Maintenancefest

The Walkerton Clean Water Centre will be hosting Maintenancefest October 16, 2024 at the Ramada Airlane Hotel & Conference Centre, 698 Arthur Street, Thunder Bay, ON.

Maintenancefest is a unique hands-on training experience that allows participants to cycle through 3 of 4 training modules over the day.

This year the Centre will be offering the following modules:

  • Continuous Free Chlorine Monitoring - This module provides participants with experience to complete calibration procedures for various chlorine analyzers and to understand maintenance and troubleshooting requirements for various chlorine analyzers.
  • Jar Testing - Participants will learn how to conduct a series of jar tests and draw conclusions based on the results.
  • Maintenance of Valves - This module will provide participants with the necessary skills to operate valves in the distribution system and evaluate their condition. The session will also explain how different valves are constructed, what's inside them, and how they work.
  • Recordkeeping Requirements - Participants will receive an overview of key sections of O.Reg. 128/04 and O.Reg. 170/03 pertaining to recordkeeping. Various methods of recordkeeping will be examined, along with the requirements to record special instructions, abnormal conditions and other pertinent information.
